Wilton 6" Apprentice Bench Vise, Pipe Jaws, 360° Swivel Base, Ductile Iron
- BENCH VISE AND PIPE VISE IN ONE: The WVA6 has a 6-inch jaw width, a 6-inch maximum opening and a 3-3/4-inch throat depth for flat stock, brackets and assemblies. Built-in pipe jaws hold pipe and round stock from 1/4 inch to 3 inches outside diameter, so you don't need a separate pipe vise for most shop pipe work.
- 72,000 PSI DUCTILE IRON, ENCLOSED BULLET DESIGN: The body is cast from 72,000 PSI ductile iron and delivers up to 8,300 lb of clamping force. The enclosed, bullet-style body covers the spindle for low-maintenance use, and a precision-machined slide bar keeps the front jaw steady as it travels. Rubber pinch-point guards help protect your hands.
- 360° SWIVEL BASE WITH TWO LOCKDOWNS AND AN ANVIL: The vise rotates a full 360 degrees and locks in place with two hand-tightened lockdown handles, one on each side of the base. A flat anvil surface behind the jaws gives you a place for light hammering, shaping and forming.
- FOR SHOP, GARAGE AND TRAINING BENCHES - NOT A PRESS: Made for apprentices, students, DIYers and tradespeople who need a full-size bench vise for cutting, filing, drilling, grinding and assembly. Bolts to a workbench through four 0.51-inch mounting holes; it is not a clamp-on vise. Do not use it as a press, and never put a hammer, pipe or cheater bar on the handle - the handle is designed to bend before the vise is damaged.
- The serrated jaw inserts, spindle and handle, spindle nut, lockdown assembly and base plate are all available as Wilton replacement parts. Model WVA6, stock number WL1-109.
The Wilton WVA6 6-inch Apprentice Bench Vise brings the low-maintenance bullet-style design of Wilton's professional vises to a vise sized for the home shop, garage and technical classroom. It has a 6-inch jaw width, a 6-inch maximum opening and a 3-3/4-inch throat depth, plus built-in pipe jaws that hold pipe and round stock from 1/4 inch to 3 inches in diameter. The 72,000 PSI ductile iron body delivers up to 8,300 lb of clamping force. The enclosed body keeps the spindle covered, and replaceable serrated jaw inserts can be swapped out as they wear. A 360-degree swivel base with two side lockdowns lets you turn the work to the best angle and lock it there, and the anvil surface behind the jaws handles light hammering and forming. The vise bolts down through four 0.51-inch holes in the base. Hand-tighten the lockdowns and never use the vise as a press or put an extension on the handle. Wilton has been making vises since 1941.
